Copper Point Resort Wedding, Invermere

Stephanie and Tyler have the Calgary Firefighters to thank for their meet up. The first time the couple met was at a trade show at the BMO Centre where Tyler was a volunteer for the Burn Treatment Society. The second time was at a charity event that the Calgary Firefighters were putting on for the Burn Treatment Society. After that the two began dating. 

The Proposal

On what seemed like a regular Thursday in July, Tyler kept dodging Stephanie’s attempts to make plans for the evening, claiming he needed to help a friend. His brother, Troy, asked Stephanie to go to Golf Town with him to pick out a new putter. She begrudgingly accepted. On the way Troy made a detour, explaining his cousins had asked him to take photos of their magic show. As they approached the hill before Girletz Rodeo Ranch, Stephanie spotted Tyler’s vehicle parked among a line of other cars. When she asked Troy what was going on, he said “Just get out of the vehicle.”

Tyler proposed to Stephanie in front of close friends and family, and Troy captured the moment on camera. Tyler had made posters featuring the lyrics of their favourite song, Wildflower by Dean Brody, and two years later they had their first dance as a married couple to the same song.

The Big Day

The Calgary couple wanted their wedding guests to enjoy a weekend getaway with a spectacular view, and Copper Point Resort in Invermere, BC fit the bill. They held their ceremony on the Opal Patio with the stunning Rocky Mountains in the background.

Favourite Moments

Stephanie: “My favourite moment of that day was walking down the aisle. I was so excited to see Tyler but also everyone who came to the wedding. I felt so, so special thinking that all these people came all this way for us.”

Tyler: “Other than seeing my gorgeous bride walking down the aisle which is obviously my favourite moment, I also truly loved the feeling I got when we walked through the doors of our reception hall and saw all the people we care about standing and clapping for us!”

Stephanie and Tyler now look forward to creating memories as husband and wife, and to having their own little family some day.
