Blush Magazine Spring Summer 2016Spring Summer 2016 Wedding Inspiration

Posted by Blush Magazine Posted on January 6, 2016

2015 was a big year for Blush Magazine. We threw a pretty fabulous unveil party, published two unique issues and featured more real weddings than any other year. 2016 has already proven to be bigger and better than the last. We have so many cool additions coming to the website (rolling out any day now) and we are so excited to release the cover of our SS2016 issue right here! Typically we distribute copies the same day but this year we went to print earlier so your first chance at a hard copy will be at the Edmonton Bridal Expo on Sunday, January 10th. That’s only 4 days away so don’t forget to purchase your tickets. Should you have no reason to be at a bridal show you can always order a copy online.

Our SS2016 cover comes to us from a collaboration of Edmonton and Calgary wedding vendors which was shot at the magnificent Fairmont Banff Springs. Cory Christopher, the mastermind behind this all, curated a spectacular team (links below) to help bring his vision to fruition.

This is the first issue where we feature more than one editorial, we couldn’t narrow it down so this season you’ll have THREE to feast your eyes on!

We look forward to meeting many of you at the upcoming bridal shows and we hope you enjoy this issue while planning your special celebration.

Tickled Floral Grand OpeningSherwood Park's Latest Floral Boutique

Posted by Blush Magazine Posted on December 23, 2015

After running Tickled Floral out of her already busy home for four years, Wendy Larson celebrated the opening of her new store with friends, family and local wedding professionals in festive fashion on November 20.

The first thing to hit you when you walk in is the fresh scent of cedar emanating from every corner—from the little Whoville trees in the cooler to the cocktail server’s cedar-bough skirt.  The next thing is Wendy’s and her husband’s warm smiles as they welcome guests and point them towards the champagne tower set beneath a chandelier decorated with deep red blooms and more cedar.

The whole storefront boasts rustic touches with barnwood walls, vintage crates and mismatched pendant lights. As guests nibbled on hors d’oeuvres from Bridges Catering, they could peruse a variety of products from local entrepreneurs and a myriad of beautiful vases to accompany Wendy’s gorgeous floral creations. Those with a sweet tooth indulged in chewy salted caramels from Jacek Chocolate Couture, and a cookie bar courtesy of Confetti Sweets delighted the young and young-at-heart. DJ Sukhi Singh set the mood with an upbeat mix and Shandro Photo captured the festivities on film.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet the inspiration behind Wendy’s love for flowers: her mom, Anita. When Wendy was growing up her mom and aunt ran a flower shop out of her aunt’s basement, and Wendy learned the art of arrangement by watching them work and playing with scrap leaves and petals. Now Anita works as one of the designers at Tickled Floral, and in true mom fashion makes sure everyone at the party has had enough to eat and received a gift bag before leaving.

If the energy and creativity behind the grand opening party are any indication of Wendy’s talents, Tickled Floral will certainly wow you whether you need a small gift for a special occasion or a room full of blooms at your wedding.
