When Mylena and Jaret first spoke to each other, Jaret proclaimed to their friends that he was going to marry her someday. On that exact same date thirteen years later—despite two rescheduled wedding dates—he kept his vow and said “I do” in an intimate ceremony at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel.
The Big Day
Mylena and Jaret spent many weekends together at Banff Springs, and it was also a special place where Jaret spent time with his mom before she passed away many years ago. The elegant hotel was an obvious choice to host their wedding, but they also wanted to create a fun and vibrant atmosphere that reflected their laid-back personalities (Jaret proposed during a chill night at home). The couple are huge Guns N’ Roses fans and had song lyrics printed on a sign welcoming guests to their ceremony on the outdoor terrace. Lush florals in shades of vivid pink, merlot and coral added pops of colour, balanced with neutral tones and chic onyx accents. “Everywhere you looked was vibrant and so very us!” says Mylena.
Even after two postponements and having to slash their guest list by nearly three quarters of the original size, Mylena and Jaret wouldn’t change a thing about their special day. From their very special first look in the Conservatory to their first dance at Mt. Stephen Hall, the entire day was full of memories they will cherish forever.

Advice from the Newlyweds
“Get a wedding planner if you can! Not only are they helpful in the overall planning and day of coordination, it was extremely valuable to have knowledgeable planners help navigate the ever-changing COVID restrictions, uncertainties and postponements. Above all, keep an open mind, stay positive and be patient!”
