JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District Wedding

Marlo thought she deleted her eHarmony account, but when another payment came out she decided to keep looking for another month. She found Arthur, and after their first date they knew their searches were over.

The Proposal

The next weekend they took a trip to Lake Louise so Marlo could see the famous blue waters, and a year and a half later Arthur asked her to marry him at the same beautiful location.

The Big Day

The couple wanted an indoor venue that had an industrial-chic feel and ample natural light. The JW Marriott Edmonton ICE District delivered on aesthetic and space for their 200 guests. As a huge Oilers fan, Arthur was thrilled to get married in the Wayne Gretzky Ballroom.

Marlo not only shared a first-look with Arthur, but she did one with her dad as well. She also had her grandfather walk her partway down the aisle, then her dad led her to her waiting groom. One of her bridesmaids didn’t get to have a formal wedding due to the pandemic, so Marlo surprised her with her own father-daughter dance and first dance with her husband during the reception.

Favourite Moments

Although Marlo and Arthur loved sharing their day with friends and family, their favourite moment was their ballroom reveal.  Elegant touches of black with gold accents and lush greenery suited the space beautifully, and the newlyweds shared a private dance together before welcoming guests into the room.
