Summer Wedding at Poplar Grove Winery

Stephen and Christine’s love story began in high school in Steveston, where they had mutual friends but didn’t really know each other. Stephen left to play hockey, and they lost touch, but when he returned, he saw Christine in a different light and asked her out, convinced they were meant to be together.

The Proposal

Stephen proposed to Christine on a sunset walk on the beach in Maui, Hawaii. He had hired a photographer to capture the special moment, which was even more special when Christine realised what was happening, seeing Stephen down on one knee. The couple was left floating in a state of happiness for the rest of their trip.

The Big Day

Poplar Grove Winery was the perfect choice for Stephen and Christine’s wedding, with its reputation for great food, wine, and a beautiful lake view. The outdoor patio reception sealed the deal, making it the ideal location for their sophisticated yet relaxed celebration.

They wanted to create a mini vacation atmosphere for their family members, who lived in both Canada and the USA, and wanted everyone to have the opportunity to get to know one another. They even included their beloved dachshund, George, in some of the wedding photos and the reception, making the day feel complete.

Favourite Moments

Christine’s favourite moment was walking down the aisle and reading their vows, while Stephen’s was the reception entrance with all their loved ones cheering. The speeches and laughter shared over good wine and food were also highlights.
