Laura + Mike: Todos Santos Beach Wedding

Posted by Blush Magazine Posted on September 2, 2014

Laura and Mike were both first time visitors at an old character hotel bar in Vancouver, BC where they met on an uncharacteristic snowy evening. They spotted each other, smiled, started chatting, and the rest is history.

The Proposal

Their fortuitous encounter snowballed into a relationship and ultimately, a proposal. On a road trip down Pacific Coast Highway to San Francisco, Mike surprised Laura with an unforgettable proposal at the Top of the Mark restaurant in the Mark Hopkins Intercontinental Hotel, at sunset over champagne.

The Big Day

The couple opted for an intimate destination wedding in Todos Santos, Mexico. They insisted on a location conducive to adventure and vacation for their guest traveling from all over North America and England. Aside from location, integrating Mexican customs into the big day was also a priority. The ceremony incorporated some Mexican traditions such as a lasso ceremony and on the menu for the reception dinner was an exquisite authentic Mexican meal which included tortilla soup and arrachera steak brochettes on rosemary skewers.

After lively dancing, humorous speeches and a bonfire on the beach, the celebration concluded with the release of Chinese lanterns into the sky above the ocean.
