Intimate Covid-Era Wedding
Christy + Kris: Intimate Covid-Era WeddingPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on March 7, 2021
Christy and Kris met a mutual friend’s 30th birthday party and hit it off from the very beginning.
The Proposal
Neither Christy and Kris’ engagement or their wedding went exactly as planned, but the couple wouldn’t change a thing. Kris planned to propose on a hike in Phoenix, but after a couple of mimosas in the pool Christy was more in the mood for fried chicken than physical exertion. On the way back Kris stopped at a roadside viewpoint to pop the question, then a private chef cooked a celebratory meal for them and their family—for which Christy didn’t have an appetite.
The Big Day
The couple planned a much larger wedding but scaled it back due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions. Instead they had a fun and intimate wedding weekend with their closest friends and family. Blackhawk Golf Club felt like an escape even though it was just on the outskirts of the city. After their first look and photos, the bride and groom both enjoyed some quiet moments together driving down to the ceremony site in a golf cart. Right before the ceremony they eased their nerves with champagne and pizza with the Maid of Honour, Best Man and Father-of-the-bride.

Advice from the Newlyweds
“Don’t get caught up trying to please everyone else; your day should be a complete reflection of what is important to you as a couple. Try to find time to have a quiet moment with one another—the day flies by.”
Looking Forward to Most Now Being Married
Christy and Kris look forward to some downtime before going on new adventures.
