Jennifer + Mark: Lake Louise Wedding

Posted by Blush Magazine Posted on August 28, 2010

Located in the heart of Banff National Park, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise resort hotel became the perfect venue for Jennifer and Mark to exchange their nuptial vows. “Naturally graced with all the elements of magical celebration,” Lake Louise is situated in pristine surroundings.

The Big Day

In true Albertan fashion, the weather conditions changed quickly, yet in the most perfect way for Jennifer and Mark. Only a day prior to their wedding, it was sleeting so hard they could hardly see their majestic surroundings. Only a day later, the sunshine peeked out from behind the clouds and the setting looked perfect. How relaxed they were on their wedding day was evident in the fact that, as Jennifer got prepared for their special day, Mark and his groomsmen enjoyed their morning at the swimming pool. Just prior to the ceremony, cards were exchanged, and as they read the sweetest words of love on the pages, both the bride and groom had tears in their eyes. The very same morning, Jennifer was given a precious gift from her grandmother, inside a tiny little box was an exquisite diamond necklace.

The amazingly beautiful natural setting influenced Jennifer and Mark’s wedding decisions. Their wedding day was full of raw emotion — their genuine, overwhelming love for each other and for their family and friends. In a stunning, classic lace gown, the bride walked down the aisle with both of her parents. Because Mark’s aunt married the pair, there were incredible personal elements to their nuptials and the exchange of vows. In keeping with the classic style of the bridal gown, the floral decorations were crisp white with pops of greenery. The wedding party looked sharp, all dressed in a vibrant kelly green which suited the natural setting.

As guests walked into the reception area which overlooked the immaculate landscape, they were presented with a visual example of the love that these two families share for their children. The mothers of the bride and groom worked together to ensure that their children’s wedding day was pristine. Mark’s mother created handmade photo boxes which were placed around the base of each centerpiece. Another one of Mark’s aunts also decorated the wedding cake and took pride in writing a special story for the couple, which accompanied the cake. There was so much fun to be had at Jennifer and Mark’s wedding, including a “dance off” between the couple’s family and the couple’s friends. The sweetest laughter and the happiest memories were shared amongst all of the special guests. On what was a chilly summer day, hearts were warmed as the sweetest couple wed.

Favourite Moments

One of Jennifer’s fondest memories is of the moment that they exchanged the vows which they had written themselves, “it felt like it was just him and I in the room.” There were happy tears and an abundance of laughter throughout the day.
