Tickled Floral Grand Opening Sherwood Park's Latest Floral Boutique

After running Tickled Floral out of her already busy home for four years, Wendy Larson celebrated the opening of her new store with friends, family and local wedding professionals in festive fashion on November 20.
The first thing to hit you when you walk in is the fresh scent of cedar emanating from every corner—from the little Whoville trees in the cooler to the cocktail server’s cedar-bough skirt. The next thing is Wendy’s and her husband’s warm smiles as they welcome guests and point them towards the champagne tower set beneath a chandelier decorated with deep red blooms and more cedar.
The whole storefront boasts rustic touches with barnwood walls, vintage crates and mismatched pendant lights. As guests nibbled on hors d’oeuvres from Bridges Catering, they could peruse a variety of products from local entrepreneurs and a myriad of beautiful vases to accompany Wendy’s gorgeous floral creations. Those with a sweet tooth indulged in chewy salted caramels from Jacek Chocolate Couture, and a cookie bar courtesy of Confetti Sweets delighted the young and young-at-heart. DJ Sukhi Singh set the mood with an upbeat mix and Shandro Photo captured the festivities on film.
It was an absolute pleasure to meet the inspiration behind Wendy’s love for flowers: her mom, Anita. When Wendy was growing up her mom and aunt ran a flower shop out of her aunt’s basement, and Wendy learned the art of arrangement by watching them work and playing with scrap leaves and petals. Now Anita works as one of the designers at Tickled Floral, and in true mom fashion makes sure everyone at the party has had enough to eat and received a gift bag before leaving.
If the energy and creativity behind the grand opening party are any indication of Wendy’s talents, Tickled Floral will certainly wow you whether you need a small gift for a special occasion or a room full of blooms at your wedding.
