Adventure Wedding in Banff

Bailee knew Darek was the one the first time she saw him at work. She even told her sister, who also worked with her, “I think I love that man; I’d run away with him if he let me.”

The Proposal

Fast-forward seven years and the couple were celebrating their anniversary camping in Jasper. Despite the cold, windy weather, they hiked to a secluded lake and rented a boat to go fishing. Unfortunately, the boat sprung a small leak, but not even high water could stop Darek from proposing to the woman of his dreams. He started playing their favourite song and said some sweet words to Bailee, then tried to kneel in the water-filled boat. The custom ring he had designed for the occasion wasn’t ready yet, so he presented Bailee with a purple string ring and popped some bubbly.

The Big Day

Sixty-nine days after their proposal, a helicopter flew the bride and groom to the mountain tops for a day of adventure. They ran down snowy highways and crossed icy rivers in their wedding attire before holding an intimate ceremony by Bow Falls. They ended their epic day with a relaxed dinner at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, and toasted to a lifetime of adventures together as husband and wife.
