Alberta Summer Wedding
Kim + Jorgie: Alberta Summer WeddingPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on February 18, 2020
It only took a $2.00 beer and a kiss for Kimberly and Jorgie to fall for each other at a Whyte Avenue bar, but Jorgie needed an entire brewery to stage his epic proposal.
The Proposal
Kim walked into the Yellowhead Brewery expecting to do a fun photoshoot with some girlfriends. Instead she found Jorgie standing amongst candles and strewn rose petals, holding a single rose and smiling from ear to ear. They celebrated with a romantic dinner at La Ronde, followed by an engagement party with their closest friends and family at the Matrix hotel.
The Big Day
Holding a private outdoor ceremony was at the top of Kim’s must-have list, largely to enjoy as much precious Alberta summer sunshine as possible. Mother Nature had other ideas, as it rained sporadically in the 90 minutes before the ceremony. The rain did hold off from Kim’s walk down the aisle through their vows, and the skies opened up just as the newlyweds shared their first kiss as husband and wife.
The couple decorated the Woodvale Community League in a neutral palette of gold, white and grey to emphasize chic black accents. They used the word “hola” in their welcome sign and menus as a playful nod to Jorgie’s Chilean heritage.
Favourite Moments
Kim and Jorgie’s intimate and emotional first look was hands-down their favourite moment of the day. They look forward to many more special moments together in their new home.
