Covid-Era White Tent Wedding
Alyssa + Adam: Outdoor Summer WeddingPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on February 2, 2021
Alyssa and Adam grew up only a few blocks away and always knew about each other but never officially met until they were introduced by mutual friends as adults. Two years after they made their couple status official, Adam convinced Alyssa to skip her 6 a.m. spin class one morning—and for good reason.
The Proposal
They had breakfast together and Adam told her he had arranged for her to take the day off work so they could hike in Kananaskis. It started out as a beautiful day but as they approached the lake it started to pour, and the rain turned to sleet as they pressed on up the mountain. By the time they reached the top they were surrounded by a winter wonderland. Adam played a song he wrote for Alyssa and asked her to marry him, then they shouted out their news all the way back down the mountain.
The Big Day
Alyssa always envisioned a white tent wedding on her grandfather’s land, so fortunately COVID didn’t alter her vision—they only had to reduce their guest list. Adam’s nervousness disappeared the moment he flipped back Alyssa’s veil and looked into her eyes, then they read their vows in front of their closest friends and family.
Favourite Moments
Alyssa: “My favourite moment was when Adam read me his vows. We decided to write our own vows and neither of us knew what we were going to say and we ending up saying almost exactly the same words to each other.”
Adam: “My favourite part of our day was seeing Alyssa for the first time. She wore a blusher on her veil and I was so nervous to flip it back over her head, but once I looked into her eyes I completely relaxed and all my nerves were gone.”

Advice from the Newlyweds
“Plan the day according to what you want! You can take advice from others but at the end of the day your wedding is about the joining of the two of you and it’s YOUR day!”
