Garden Calgary Wedding
Nancy + Ryan: Garden Calgary WeddingPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on January 19, 2017
It’s not too often a blind date ends in happily ever after, but that was exactly the case for Nancy and Ryan when their friends set them up!
The Proposal
The proposal happened at Nancy’s family farm out in Springbank, AB. Ryan had asked Nancy’s father for permission beforehand, and then lead her to the bench her grandfather made for her grandmother. Among the rose petals and champagne, she said yes!
The Big Day
As for the wedding day, Nancy and Ryan were focused on making sure they and their guests enjoyed a really fun day. They chose Rouge as the venue because they both wanted to put an emphasis on a great meal and great wine, plus they got to take over the entire house and garden! They had MBF playing music with a four person string band, Monogram serving coffee, and lots of dancing and drinks. Another special touch for the couple was having Ryan’s best friend officiate the ceremony!
Favourite Moments
While there were too many amazing moments to pick just one, Nancy will always remember Ryan’s face as she was walking down the aisle, and the father-daughter dance to Graceland. Ryan’s highlight was simply marrying Nancy in the rain during a meaningful and personal ceremony.

Advice from the Newlyweds
‘Enjoy the planning and days around the wedding with friends and family because the wedding day itself goes by so fast! Do what you want, not what you think you have to- it’s a day to celebrate with your family and friends, the rest is just details!’
