Lake Louise Elopement

Claudina didn’t expect to find love during her five-month stay in Toronto, but she met Patrick through a friend of a friend…of a friend. They started dating, and when Claudina went home to Mexico, Patrick came to visit her. A few months later she packed her bags and hopped a plane for a new life with Patrick in Canada.

The Proposal

Patrick proposed on a small island near his parent’s cottage in Bay Lake. Claudina found him and their puppy surrounded by bouquets at the end of a path strewn with rose petals. They celebrated their engagement with champagne, a Zoom call with her family, and a plane ride over the lakes.

The Big Day

Since travel restrictions would make it impossible to bring their families together for their wedding, Claudina and Patrick decided to elope rather than wait. They had always wanted to visit Lake Louise, and their photographer recommended Post Hotel as the setting for their wintry outdoor ceremony. They nearly cancelled their plans when Alberta announced new restrictions the week before, but they decided to go ahead with a few last-minute changes—Claudina had to do her own hair and make-up, and they had a romantic and delicious wedding dinner in their hotel room.
