Outdoor Okanagan Garden Wedding
Romantic Garden PartyPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on January 24, 2022
Alexandra went to Casey’s house party as his date but quickly discovered she was more interested in his roommate, Adrian. She made it up to Casey by introducing him to a friend, and it all worked out because they eventually got married—as did Alexandra and Adrian!
The Proposal
Adrian started his proposal by casually saying, “Let’s get pizza, champagne and chill by the river.” Alexandra said yes to it all.
The Big Day
They envisioned a romantic garden party for their wedding but also wanted to have creative flexibility with décor. Linden Gardens was already such a beautiful location that they only added a hanging rose backdrop to the ceremony site nestled within a tree grove.
Midway through the ceremony just as everyone was starting to get misty-eyed, Alexandra and Adrian’s yellow lab decided a moment of comic relief was in order and jumped into the lily pond behind them. Everyone burst out laughing, and the rest of the day was pure fun.
The bride and groom chose to forgo a formal wedding party which allowed them to be present with each other during photos.
Favourite Moments
Adrian’s favourite moment was having that time alone to reflect on the ceremony and have a quiet moment before the reception. Alexandra fondly remembers walking back to the dance floor later at night and seeing their closest friends and family together under strings of lights twinkling from the trees.

Advice from the Newlyweds
“Start small with the guest list and add closer to the date—there’s nothing worse than having to uninvite people if restrictions call for it.”
Looking Forward to Most Now Being Married
Alexandra and Adrian love being able to say “my husband” and “my wife”, knowing they both have a partner for life.
