Tofino Beach Elopement
Brittany + Trevor: Tofino Beach ElopementPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on March 22, 2021
Brittany and Trevor met as colleagues at a restaurant in their home town. Trevor was training to become a chef and Brittany was serving her way through university.
The Proposal
Trevor proposed in the summer of 2019 in Sicamous, BC. There were raging forest fires at the time and Trevor took Brittany up a dirt road to an old hang gliding ramp off the side of a mountain. She gave him heck the whole way up as a joke because they couldn’t see anything from all the smoke. When they arrived to the top, the view was incredible. Trevor asked Brittany to stand at the edge of the ramp while he setup the tripod. After setting the timer, Trevor ran down the ramp towards Brittany and the next thing she knew he was on the ground, “I thought he fell and was tumbling to his death but when I turned around he was down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was the best day ever!”
The Big Day
After cancelling their wedding in Mexico twice, Brittany and Trevor were thrilled to win an elopement giveaway on Vancouver Island – the place they now call home. The universe aligned for them on their engagement anniversary when they were announced the winners. Cassie with Love Spell Co worked with the couple to plan a very special elopement in Tofino in just a matter of a few weeks.
The highlight for the couple was getting ready with their family in an Airbnb. “It was so special to have all that time together, to really be present and connect,” Brittany reflects. One of the biggest surprises while getting ready was when their planner walked in with The Augusts and introduced them as their video team to capture their day. They were blown away that every single detail and special moment would not only be captured in photos but also in film.
“From saying our I do’s on the beach, celebrating with a champagne toast with the family, having time together with just Trevor and I following an intimate reception at the Wick Inn, – Always being on Trevor’s bucket list with it being known for incredible cuisine, outstanding service and gorgeous views – our day could not have been any more perfect.”
Favourite Moments
Brittany: “When Trevor read me his handwritten vows during the ceremony. He made me laugh and cry and as he spoke I saw our entire life together unfold ahead of us. I had never felt more loved and whole.”
Trevor: “Waiting to see Brittany for the first time during the reveal. I was excited and nervous because I didn’t know what to expect and I was anticipating seeing what the rest of my life was going to look like.”

Advice from the Newlyweds
- Hire a professional! Planning a wedding or elopement can be stressful, there are so many details and options it can be overwhelming at best. Hiring a professional who is in alignment with your values and your vision will make it that much more of an enjoyable experience. We are so lucky we found the perfect planner who made the process fun, romantic and memorable. She made all our wishes come true.
- Make sure the choices you make are your own as a couple and not to please anyone else. You can’t please everybody, and at the end of the day, this is your wedding and no one else’s. Put your dreams and wishes first.
- Slow down and enjoy the process. (Our planner reminded us of this often and it was the best advice!)
Looking Forward to Most Now Being Married
We’ve been a couple for almost 12 years so we’ve already got the “old married couple” vibes down pat. But now we are looking forward to growing our family, buying our first home and creating more memories together.
