‘Til Death Do Us Part Say 'I Do' Again: Wedding Do-Over

Posted by Blush Magazine Posted on February 19, 2019

Life gives us many opportunities to make mistakes but very few chances for a do-over. Ashley and David immediately regretted their wedding in 2011—not the marriage part, but everything else. Ashley rushed through planning in six months and overlooked things she didn’t feel were important at the time. Their venue was a “soulless” hall, and Ashley felt both the event staff and her photographer didn’t care about them or their wedding. The result was a stressful day that showed in their disappointing photos. “I felt in many ways that they stole from me—not only my money, but my opportunity to have meaningful memories.”

Seven years later David and Ashley decided to re-do their wedding their way at Events at Hole’s. Ashley wanted to celebrate their marriage in a space they could revisit with friends and family, and the Glasshouse Bistro provided a beautiful outdoor space for their golden hour vow renewal. Every year they give each other the traditional anniversary gifts and wanted to incorporate that theme in the ceremony space. Items made from various materials such as paper, cotton, copper and leather (the custom vegan leather jacket from Wink Ink Design Co.) were subtle yet meaningful symbols of their seven years of marriage.

Ashley and David said “I still do” in front of ten guests, including their two young daughters. Their vendors ensured the evening was relaxed, elegant and filled with love. When the couple look through their renewal photos, they see only pure joy—no regrets.
