Elegant Floral Wedding
Julia + Ben: Elegant Floral WeddingPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on February 8, 2017
Ben and Julia went on their first date in 2002 and have been inseparable ever since. After being together for 12 years, they began to discuss wedding details — and even set a date before getting engaged!
The Proposal
They picked out a ring together, but night after night it sat on the nightstand until Ben finally got one on knee and officially asked Julia to be his wife.
The Big Day
For the wedding decor, Julia knew she wanted something very elegant and romantic, so she dreamed up a vision incorporating greys, golds, pinks, and a lot of fresh florals and greenery. Flowers filled their venue, the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel West Edmonton, but the most stunning piece was the floral canopy with a crystal chandelier hanging from the centre.
Another great statement piece was the seating chart designed by the couple’s event planner, Samantha. It was designed to look like a larger version of the wedding invitations, complete with their monogram!
Favourite Moments
Ben’s favourite moment of the day was watching his wife-to-be walk down the aisle, and recalls the surreal feeling knowing the day had finally arrived. Julia will always remember trying to hold back her tears while listening to the thoughtful, funny and sweet vows Ben had written for her.

Advice from the Newlyweds
Enjoy the day as much as possible. It goes by so fast! Make sure to spend some quality time with your spouse as well. Step out for a quick break and relish in the moment. Also, try not to stress out too much about the small details. No one will notice, and it will just end up driving you insane.
