Intimate Fairmont Wedding

Online dating often results in hours of profile searching and numerous lacklustre first dates before—if you’re lucky—you really connect with someone. When Jaclyn and Jonathan were matched on Tinder, theirs was the first and last date either of them went on using the app. A few years later they celebrated their wedding with the hashtag #RamSwipedRight.

The Proposal

The couple love cooking, so Jonathan popped the question one evening while they were preparing dinner at his place. They celebrated their engagement later that evening with friends and family, and couldn’t wait to celebrate again—their engagement was only five months!

The Big Day

Jaclyn and Jonathan wanted a reception venue that was visually appealing and full of character, so when they discovered that the Wedgwood Room at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald was available for their date, they jumped on it. Instead of a photo booth, they hired a cartoonist to sketch fun pictures of guests as superheroes. They served their favourite cocktail, the Moscow Mule, in traditional copper cups, which they gave away as wedding favours.

Favourite Moments

Jonathan loved relaxing and having fun with the bridal party during photos, while Jaclyn’s favourite part was “seeing the whole day come together and making a wonderful memory with my husband, friends and family.”
