Marichelle + Valiant: Extravagant Fairytale Wedding

Posted by Blush Magazine Posted on September 15, 2012

Although, at one time, neither Marichelle or Valiant believed in love at first sight, their beliefs quickly changed once they met; “we think that’s what happened to us.” Seven years later, they found themselves exchanging “I dos.” While they had been together for quite some time, based on their prior discussions about marriage and their future together, Marichelle anticipated that when they went ring shopping, Valiant was only getting ideas for a proposal that would happen two years later.

The Proposal

Little did she know, he would propose shortly after they found the right ring. After enjoying a unique dining experience at Calgary’s Alloy, Valiant told Marichelle that he had something to ask her; “will you marry me?” Of course, with a beautiful smile and tears in her eyes, she exclaimed “yes!”

The Big Day

Marichelle and Valiant exchanged vows at an extravagant, fairytale-like wedding. Just as every girl loves that little blue box, Marichelle selected Tiffany blue paired with fresh whites and creams, along with small pops of green for hers and Valiant’s wedding décor. From their stationery through to the décor at the ceremony at The Centre St. Church and the reception at The Fairmont Palliser, no detail was forgotten. It has been said that at their fairytale wedding, Marichelle “looked like a beautiful princess [who would] live happily ever after with her prince.”  At the church, as she walked down a white aisle lined with white rose petals, in her Vera Wang gown, Marichelle met her prince who stood before her under an opulent floral arch.

After they said their “I dos,” guests were invited to a reception where they entered into a sea of Tiffany blue. From the lighting, to the linens, and even a Tiffany inspired cake, guests admired Marichelle and Valiant’s grand wedding. Adhering to Filipino tradition, they shared a money dance, but in order to truly unite and include their families, Marichelle and Valiant asked some of their family members to perform and share their talents with the bride and groom’s guests. The formal program was led by family members who performed through song and dance and concluded with the bride and groom who shared a formal ballroom dance.

Favourite Moments

Marichelle and Valiant share sentiment when they speak of their wedding ceremony. While walking down the aisle toward Valiant and seeing their family and friends crying tears of joy, as well as her husband-to-be shedding a few tears of happiness, is Marichelle’s favourite from their wedding day, Valiant’s was seeing his bride for the first time that day. As the doors opened and I “saw Chelle in her wedding gown, so beautiful,” a singer performed Shania Twain’s, “From This Moment” and it was the official beginning of their happily ever after.
