When this free spirit romantic shoot was submitted to us, we were thrilled with the group of local vendors that collaborated. This shoot really brought together bohemian touches with chic bridal fashion. A spread can be found in the current issue of Blush Magazine on stands until August 1, 2017.
Winter blues are finally lifting and our favorite time of year has almost arrived…wedding season, of course! Strapless dresses and outdoor ceremonies are almost here. But when we’re craving some warm and sunny inspiration during the chilly season, we look to where the sun always shines, no matter the time of year — Palm Beach.
Happy Valentine’s Day lovies! We’ve been hanging onto this editorial shoot for quite some time, waiting for the perfect occasion to share it with our online readers. Valentine’s couldn’t be a more perfect day to share Amina and Alex’s ten year anniversary shoot. Last Spring, Amina and Alex celebrated their ten year anniversary with their three beautiful children. We trekked the family of five out to the beautiful Town of Banff for some spectacular photos. Our team of vendors (full list below photos), created a stunning wedding setup atop Tunnel Mountain. If you tied the knot before the world of designers, blogs, instagram and pinterest – we hope this mountain anniversary shoot inspires you.
One day Buffy Goodman entered “wedding dress” into the search bar on Pinterest just to see what would come up. As a wedding photographer, she talks with couples constantly and knows almost all of them have used the site for wedding inspiration or created their own page.
As she scrolled through hundreds of photos of women in white dresses, Buffy grew frustrated at the lack of diversity. “I had to scroll down through 160 photos to find a single person of colour,” she said. “I didn’t see one plus-size bride in this search.”
She switched gears and searched “wedding photo” in hopes of finding more variation in her own field, but again with disappointing results. “My eyes actually blurred a little as I scrolled past identical-looking photos of thin, white heterosexual couples.” The photos were pretty, but also pretty boring.
Inspiration struck and Buffy organized a photo shoot to celebrate the beautiful diversity of love and marriage regardless of size, ethnicity or sexual orientation. The results are fresh, gorgeous and beyond Pinterest-worthy.
This styled intimate elopement in the woods is wildly romantic. Surrounded by soaring trees, perfectly edited details and a bouquet that will knock your socks right off. And then there’s Beyonce’s ‘Halo” lyrics beautifully scripted and fitting for two people in love. See credits below images.
