Classic Summer Wedding

While many assume that a nursing student and a first-year resident doctor would meet at a hospital, Kailee and Tim met at a bar when they struck up a conversation about travel. They went on their first date a few days later, and Kailee came home with sore cheeks from smiling so much.

The Proposal

While on holiday watching the sun set over the Portuguese city of Porto, Tim popped the question. A nearby couple caught the moment on camera and shared the photos with Tim and Kailee, which they will cherish forever.

The Big Day

Tim and Kailee have large families, live in Edmonton’s River Valley, and wanted to include their Golden Retriever puppy, Bean, on their big day. Hosting their wedding at the dog-friendly Fairmont Hotel Macdonald was an obvious choice. The day started with an eventful processional—a groomsman had the guests in stitches when he tripped down the aisle, then Bean melted everyone’s hearts in her olive leaf collar, and finally Kailee took Tim’s breath away in her gorgeous gown.

They capped off a perfect day with a grand reception featuring some more personalized touches; they served cinnamon buns instead of a traditional cake and used a custom-made globe as a guestbook to reflect their love of travel.
