Arianna + Thomas: Vintage Library WeddingPosted by Blush Magazine • Posted on December 17, 2019
Arianna and Tom’s elegant vintage library wedding theme was inspired by how they met—while studying for diplomas at their local library. Tom asked Arianna to be his girlfriend while visiting her at her Okanagan vacation home, then waited six years to ask her to be his wife.
The Proposal
While strolling through the Italian Gardens at Butchart Gardens in Victoria B.C, Tom opened a book to reveal a custom engagement ring hidden within.
The Big Day
Arianna wanted a Fairmont Hotel Macdonald wedding since she was a little girl and the grand Empire Ballroom perfectly embodied their vision. They incorporated books into the décor, their escort cards looked like library return slips, and the ringbearers carried their rings down the aisle in a book. After their church ceremony the bride and groom rode off in a 1926 Model A Ford. Arianna wanted a unique setting for their bridal party photos without the risk of rain, so they bedecked The Foundry with antique furniture, roses and candles. While guests enjoyed cocktail hour, Arianna and Tom had a private first dance on their custom wrapped vinyl dance floor. They set up a cigar and bourbon bar and provided Rescue Flats to all the ladies to keep the party going all night.

Advice from the Newlyweds
“Enjoy the journey! Make sure you take time for yourselves and remember that you are in a relationship and to nurture it all along the way. If you are stressed ask yourself – can I do anything about this? If yes, then do it. If not, then don’t stress about it!”
Looking Forward to Most Now Being Married
The newlyweds look forward to coffee together every morning and the arrival of their first child in September.
